Open Fields provides children of ALL ages the opportunity to participate in theatre.

Founded in Dover, MA Open Fields offers a safe haven where children can develop their talents in the creative arts. A home where they sing, dance, act, explore, grow, learn and make new friends. As one young Open Fields member wrote:

"You say Open Fields is our second family, but to me it is much more. Open Fields has helped me shape who I am."

Started by parents and professionals, Open Fields draws on the talents and foundation of a community to create a warm, nurturing environment for its children.

Founder Keith Greenfield and his wife Tina along with their four children - Kadie, Stephanie, Jordana and Jordan teamed with parents and artists in the towns of Dover, Sherborn, Medfield, Wellesley and beyond to create a theater group that embraced a family-like community of kids and adults while teaching and producing musical theater.

Since its founding in 1999 Open Fields has produced over 20 musicals, revues featuring rock, pop and musical theatre songs and galas to raise funds for non-profits including Broadway in South Africa and Ben Speaks. Visit our past seasons page to see a complete listing of productions and COMING SOON pictures and video and audio clips of our past shows.

In 2009 an Open Fields family approached Keith about starting a theater camp where kids could spend their summer learning more about theater, music and dance while building confidence through their time on stage and foundation of community from their fellow performers, directors and counselors. Brave Arts with the mission "Confidence - one kid a time" was founded. Visit www.brave-arts.org to learn more.

Open Fields has given the opportunity for countless kids to be on stage - typically 70-100 kids ages seven and (way!) beyond find their way on stage each year. Some have gone on to pursue professional careers on Broadway, television, film and as a college theater, music and dance majors. For most, Open Fields is a very special chapter of childhood, filled with memories of family and friends and the lifelong love of music, theatre, dance and performance.
