Auditions will be held on ZOOM

Monday, October 19 (5:30 PM to 7:30 PM)
WHAT TO PREPARE:
A musical theatre song, pop, rock or country song. You may sing a Capella or with music (YouTube has many karaoke/instrumental versions of songs). Please pick a song that shows range as you act and sing, rather than a song that repeats itself over & over again. We recommend a song that is well-rehearsed and something you're very familiar with rather than a brand new song. All auditions should be "off-book" with no lyrics in hand so we can see your face. Make sure you're in a well-lit spot for the Zoom session and that your sound is working before you start!
Try to pick a part that shows off some range whether in the pitch, tone or acting and please have the part fully memorized (no lyric sheets)
If you need some help choosing a song, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll be happy to provide some more guidance!!
A note regarding the 2020-2021 season:
The theme of this year is "go with the flow." Our #1 priority this year is to keep everyone in our Open Fields family and beyond safe and healthy. We are grateful for Zoom and what technology can do for us until it is safe to be back together again. The plan for now is to be on Zoom once a week to keep our family singing and sharing together with the hopes of a Spring outdoor performance with the songs we have learned throughout the Winter and Fall. If it's clear we'll be able to perform in the Spring, we will increase rehearsals to 2-3 times a week. If we're not able to rehearse/perform outside we will continue with Zoom and virtual rehearsals. We believe right now the best medicine for all of us and our communities is to keep us all together singing and sharing together even if we're apart.
